  HELP!!! Hubby turning home into 'Book Study'

  my husband, who's a ministerial servant, was approached by an elder and asked if he'd offer our home to become a 'book study' meeting place.. i'm a bit of a loner, and need lots of peace, quiet, privacy, and solitude; plus to boot you all know i'm living this sort of double life, you know, just doing the very minimum to remain a witness.. this is awful!!!!!!!!!!

  i can't deal with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  My husband is the type that does what he wants even when I disagree. And I'm a bit spineless when it comes to getting in his way once he's made up his mind about anything.

  we can't agree on a name for our soon to be born baby boy.. i love the name tristen.

  he hates it.. he wants a basic name like bobby, tony, etc.. is there a name that sounds like tristen but isn't?.

  Missing a meeting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  today, like many days, well, usually once or twice weekly, i'm missing yet another meeting; it's the 'book study' meeting.. just don't feel like hearing the same crap.

  the book (isaiah's prophecy) we're studying now is so redundant and boring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  plus, i saw all the people i care for over the weekend, so i really don't need to have another doses of their love just yet.. sound familiar to anyone?!.

  Attending the "right" hall

  there always seemed to be such a big stink about making sure you went to the hall that you were assigned to.

  whatever territory that you lived in, that would be the hall assignment, whether you liked it or not.. if you chose not to go to your assigned hall, boy was there ever flack.

  you could get severely counciled for it.. just seems to be another stupid rule that they would get upset about.

  I've rimless glasses, and know quite a few peers who wear those also, and we've never had a problem. Haven't seen anything in writing from the Society going against it either.

  Perhaps you're definitely referring to an isolated case in your particular congregation.

  Blessings for Loyalty

  Here's a bitter story about blessings from God for being loyal in his organization.

  There's this sister, whom I care for dearly, that is ever present in all meetings, all activities, excellent mother and wife, always helping those in need and solving everyone's problems around her. Just someone to admire in every way! A woman that, if they are correct in their theology, then she's the first one to inheret eternal life in heavens or earth.

  And.................what type of blessing/protection from the almighty God does she deserve for being an excellent person and faithful servant? A full blown, terminal cancer that in less than 2 months has left her body awfully mutilated, skinny beyond belief, and with no hopes of ever going back to any type of good life.

  Blessings?! Protection from God?!!!!!!!! Bologna!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  the economy, which has been struggling for months now, finally caves in and major retailers fold as of the results of an extremely poor holiday shopping season.

  When I first read your post I thought it was too apocalyptic, definitely JW mentality at its best. But, then, you know, stuff like this is really plausible! So, what would I do?!

  So help me God, if something like this or worse ever happens I hope to have the courage to do as I've planned: I shall lower my head in sign of respect for higher powers and recite the Lord's prayer (in Spanish) just as he taught us and it's registered in the Bible. Then wait 'til the chips fall where they may.

  Our inheritance is going to WTS

  just found out yesterday, by way of the grapevine, that my jw husband's inheritance from his parents, is going to the wts.

  i had been trying to tell my husband that the wts is doing this now, and he did not believe me.

  and would u believe it, we heard yesterday, from his his nephew, that it is so, they are not leaving anything to their kids, all to the wts.

  So, it is that organization we all follow after all!!!
